A GUIDE TO MIDDLESBROUGH FOOTBALL PROGRAMMES, FIXTURES, RESULTS … AND MORE (1960-1980)

The football programme is a lasting memory of a bygone era, resurrected through the language, artistry, images, and advertisements that adorn the pages of every programme, thereby providing a unique insight into the very existence of the football club throughout the generations.

This is the fourth in a unique series of six books that comprehensively documents every known (and unknown) match programme and fixture played by teams at various levels representing Middlesbrough Football Club from the 1960/61 season to the 1979/80 season. This includes routine league and cup fixtures, plus many long forgotten and obscure friendly, postponed, and abandoned matches.

This publication, which is the result of years of extensive research, is A4 in size and has over 130 glossy pages featuring more than 250 images covering the sixth and seventh decades of the twentieth century. Some of the main features contained within this unique and highly collectable book include the following:

  • Individual Middlesbrough fixture details including results from the North Regional League, North Midlands League and Northern Intermediate League teams which have never been compiled before.
  • Commentary on selected programmes including match details and related club and player information.
  • Images of selected programmes, teams, players, and press reports.
  • Details of other matches played at Ayresome Park.
  • Other highlights include special articles titled "1966 World Cup at Ayresome Park", "1975/76 Anglo-Scottish Cup", "Antipodean Tour 1975", "Big in Japan", "Big John… Legend", "Friends Re-United", "An Off Day" and "In Reserve".

In addition, discover new facts which have previously never been seen before in the public domain.

The cost of the book is £20.00 (plus £3.00 postage & packing) or collection can be arranged to save on postage costs. Please email gary.bolton1@ntlworld.com to order your copy.
